Communication Training Facilitator

Job Title:  Communication Training Facilitator

 Objective of the Consultant:

Communication trainer will assess the capacity and knowledge of communication officers of International Solidarity Foundation partners in Somaliland (NAFIS Network, Candlelight, SOYDAVO, ADO and SYS) and facilitate 4days in training. The trainer will built the capacity of the staff in knowledge management, particularly in the development of a strategic communication plan, development of information-education-communication (IEC) materials on target beneficiaries , including design, graphics, layout and publication of IEC materials, studies/assessments, project reports, etc., and utilization of social media to promote anti-FGM in line with implementation of their  projects.

Specific Responsibilities:

The Communications Trainer shall undertake and deliver the following:

  1. Will assess the communicationscapacity of the five organizations to tailor the training session into their gaps.
  2. Develop a communications training modules and train the communication officers of the five ISF partners by facilitating 4 days’ workshop

Scope of the Work

  1. Assess the communication gaps of the staff before the training and Develop fitting Communicationtraining modules (training materials)
  2. Facilitate four days training flowed with five days in one on couching by closely working with project staffsand organizational managementsto ensure the success.
  3. Deliver a compressive report at the end of the workshop

Qualification and Competencies

Education:

  • Graduate degree in mass media, communications social Science, Business, Law or any other areas

Experience and competencies

  • 5-7 years relevant work experience with civil society, in communication strategy development.
  • Highly motivated and experienced in capacity assessment and trainingfacilitation
  • Applicants must be confident, persuasive, and able to communicate very well inEnglish and Somali is desirable
  • Excellent administration, organizational and time management skills;
  • Excellent team work and participatory process skills;
  • Flexible working hours-ability to work evening and weekends if necessary. Ability toplan and prioritize work duties as well as work competently under pressure and tight deadlines Consistently approaches work with energy and a positive,constructive attitude and good computer skills
