To be responsible for the day to day activities of the Child Protection & Livelihood Skills Development Project for Vulnerable Orphan Families in Hargeisa by providing support to related operations, facilitating good practice and ensuring legal compliance to applicable implementation process.
Main Duties and Responsibilities.
Assist Implementation of the project activities in accordance with these plans and within specific time bound targets.
Support community awareness sessions to sensitise the community on the rights and welfare of widows and orphans.
Record and report all activities and support the evaluation and measuring of impacts of the project in regard to children.
Mobilize communities for workshops on issues related to the rights of children and women.
Working alongside other Project staff to positively engage parents and promote family-based activities such as sending children to school.
Supporting SHG to ensure the hold of meetings for discussing and engaging in arrange of activities which promote self-sufficiency and empowerment.
Closely work with target families by connecting to IRS office.
Monitor progress of SHGs by participating their periodical meetings.
Mobilise project beneficiaries on issue related to organizational policies & procedures, child protection and welfare.
Perform other related duties as required by Child Welfare Supervisor.
Internal controls and reporting.
Assist insuring the accurateness and completeness of project data in hard copies. Account timely implementation for the activities of the project.
Identify any apparent issues in the project and report immediately.
Essential qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s degree in development studies, Social Work/Science, international relations, human rights, WASH, migration, agriculture, food security, gender studies, or a related field.
Fluent English (written and spoken), excellent writing and communication skills. Hand on experience in report writing.
Prior work experience with an INGO in Development settings is preferred.
Flexibility and ability to multi-task under work under pressure in a high-pace environment. Proven ability to work creativity and independently both in the field and in the office.
Good organizational, prioritization, interpersonal skills Commitment and motivation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
