  1. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE

MIDA FINNSOM Health phase IV project is the Institutionalizing Health Care Improvement through Temporary Returns of Somali Diaspora Health Professionals program to support the rehabilitation and development of regional health sectors in Somaliland. Based on “first, second and third phase of the project, IOM and its project partners continue facilitating temporary return assignments of qualified Somali professionals who are committed to contributing their skills in the reconstruction of their countries of origin.

The new phase of MIDA FINNSOM geographically focus on the regional development of the health sector of Somaliland in “Awdal (Borama), Sanaag (Erigavo), Sool

(Lasanood), Togdheer (Burao) and Sahil (Berbera)” and some district hospitals, with the overall objective of contributing to improved health outcomes in Somaliland by strengthening public health institutions in line with government priorities.

In order to empower and involve the next generation of Somalis in efforts to develop Somaliland while maintaining national ownership and sustainability, IOM aim to place 40 locally recruited young Somali professionals and pair them with experts from the diaspora. The Somali youth will be placed in expert positions under the supervision of the diaspora experts at relevant institutions to provide continuous on-the-job training and mentoring.

III. Qualifications

Level of Education: Bachelor degree or higher qualifications will
be accepted
Years of Work Experience in What Area(s): Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience working
the area of interest
Well understanding environment
Common diseases.
Good understanding for patient
Communication.

Languages
