RADIO MATERIAL PRODUCTION AND BROADCASTING/DISSEMINATION SERVICE TO THE TARGET AUDIENCE

  1. BACKGROUND

Ubaxa Caasimada (UC) is a non-profit; non-governmental local youth led civil society organization and youth volunteer networks dedicated in reinstating peace, security, public ownership, while also addressing the post conflict social behaviors and attitudes in Mogadishu through the promotion and increased local youth engagements and volunteerism in public and social works.  UC engages in long-term development work, responds to emergencies, and seeks to address the social challenges and barriers through development, education, and advocacy work. UC has been active in Mogadishu since June 2016, despite the social cohesion gaps and needs in Mogadishu, The network successfully carried different projects that encompasses; peace appearance tournament, peace and security awareness campaign, city street beatification and greenery, advocacy works on annual and weekly basis. UC is also currently undertaking Seed Grant and Local Voices Project in Mogadishu

  1. PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT

The purpose of this assignment is to conduct field- and desk-level radio media materials production and dissemination to the target audience

  1. SPECIFIC TASKS
  2. Imam programs
  3. Provide the religious expert (Imam)
  4. 8 radio program (Imam massaging), 15 min each
  5. Drama/discussion program
  6. At least 5 episodes, 15 min each
  7. Provide the production services or confirm if you will do that with a different vendor
  8. Provide built-in  audience surveys and measuring audience sentiments (M&E analytics)
  9. Online amplification of content on radio station sites
  10. Public Service Announcements (PSA)
  11. At least 3 (advertisements of the activities)
  12. 2 or 3 more on peace messaging
  13. Provide the themes for the peace messaging PSAs
  14. Technical and financial reports

NB: Ubaxa Caasimada will provide the themes for all of the above activities (assignments)

  1. METHODOLOGY

The services providers will employ both quantitative and qualitative techniques in delivering elegant services that meets the requirements of Ubaxa Caasimada

  1. DELIVERABLES/EXPECTED OUTPUT

The service provider will be expected to produce the following outputs:

  1. Provide reputable religious experts (Imams)
  2. 8 radio program (Imam massaging), 15 min each
  3. At least 5 drama episodes, 15 min each
  4. Provide built-in  audience surveys and measuring audience sentiments (M&E analytics)
  5. Online amplification of content on radio station sites
  6. Public Service Announcements (PSA)
  7. At least 3 (advertisements of the activities), 2 or 3 more on peace messaging
  8. Any other assignments deemed necessary by UC which will be discussed by UC and the service provider

 

  1. LINES OF COMMUNICATION/REPORTING

The services provider will liaise with the UC Communications Officer and report to the Project Manager

  1. TIMEFRAME AND LOCATION

Work expected to commence in 20th July 2019. All contracted days should take place within the period stated in the contract agreement. The services provider is expected to work within strict deadlines

  1. RENUMERATION

Agreed rates will be based on prevailing market competitive rates and value for money. In full consideration of the services performed by the services provider under the terms of contract, UC shall pay the services provider fees as per an agreed output/deliverables-payment scheduled as follows:

  • 10% of total agreement will paid upon contract signing
  • 90% of total agreement will be paid upon satisfactory completion of final works and submission of technical and financial reports
  • Any additional services billed and/or contract extension must be agreed through a contract amendment approved by UC.

The services provider is not an employee of UC or its affiliates, thus no extra benefits are provided as part of this agreement.

  1. ESSENTIAL AND DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATION OF THE SERVICES PROVIDER
  • Degree in journalism
  • Must have at least five (8) years relevant work experience in journalism, especially in the field of security and peace building
  • Excellent English and Somali communication, reporting and editorial skills
