Company /Department Summary:

Dahabshiil Centre of Excellency the capacity building and development arm of Dahabshiil Group, the fastest growing business group with interests in financial services, banking, telecommunications, real estate, and energy & power sectors among others. The Dahabshiil Group office, under the leadership of the Dahabshiil Group Executive Vice Chairman plans to recruit Centre Manager for the new Centre of Excellency to provide capacity building programmes for our companies’ staff and in future to serve other clients.

General Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Human Resource and Administration Director, the Dahabshiil centre of Excellency Manager will provide strategic direction, Leadership and Management of the group Capacity Building Programmes.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Centre Manager will be responsible for but not limited to the following key duties and responsibilities:

  1. Manage and coordinate the Capacity Building Programmes of Dahabshiil Group from the Headquarters in all respect and developing strategies to ensure effective achievement of Group vision and companies objectives;
  2. The Manager will contribute to Learns’ capacity building mission in the following ways: Actively support and lead on the design of adult-learning training and coaching curriculum in alignment with Learns’ needs assessment for different target groups
  • lead the development and the delivery of the Curricula Training programmes, manages and monitors the performances of his or her department and adjust work plans and quality of performance as necessary
  1. Manage the development and execution of Training Needs Analysis (TNA), training calendar, training delivery, training curriculum, aides and tools (review/ research, acquisition/maintenance;
  2. Develop capacity building materials, including presentations, manuals, guidelines, how-to note, training videos, tools and other documents, in close collaboration with and in support of related technical team members;
  3. Deliver or support the delivery of trainings (in person or virtually) and facilitate learning events for different types of audiences;
  • In close coordination with other members of the team, manage Capacity Building monitoring systems, including developing pre-tests, post-tests, surveys to collect data, maintaining Capacity Building dashboard, analyzing data for continuous adaptation/improvement and reporting to the Group;
  • Lead and coordinate own staff team and other persons (trainers, internal line trainers, external trainers, training facility management) involved in training delivery:
  1. prepares status and management reports and other all other reports and feedbacks as required by Donors to meet the deadlines
  2. Develop Learning, Development and Talent plans and budgets within the overall Centre’s plans and budgets;
  3. Conduct herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Dahabshiil Group.
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Economics, Social Sciences, Education administration and planning, Management or Education, Public Administration or a related field, preferably focused on learning solutions. Master’s in the same fields will be an advantage
  2. 7 years’ experience with at least 2 years as Centre Manager or 3 years as Assistant Manager
  • Direct work experience in developing countries as a senior expert in training and capacity building.
  1. Demonstrated ability to design capacity building strategies based on clear needs identification and understanding of the operating context, and experience of working with Governments institutions and donor community.
  2. Solid experience in organizing trainings, familiarity with a wide range of capacity building techniques including designing educational curriculum.
  3. Demonstrated strong management, coordination, teamwork, and planning skills, with proven ability to function effectively with multiple host country counterparts in both the public, private and local partners.
  • Relevant experience implementing and managing training and technical assistance programs.
  • Ability to produce well written reports while meeting tight deadlines.
  1. Ability to manage and monitor a budget.
  2. Project management experience.
  3. Fluency in English and Somali is required.

Success Factors:

The position requires a capacity building programme Manager with a proven track record on training specialty, Human Capital corporate business strategy and Coordination. Planning and organizing, Teamwork The individual must have strong communication and interpersonal skills to relate at all levels in the organization- in additional to tried negotiation skills in a cross- cultural environment; organizational and interpersonal skills; High degree of integrity; Strategic thinking and results oriented; Track record of good management and development skills; A high level of personal motivation and enthusiasm;. Fluency in Somali and English languages required.

Environmental Conditions

This position will be based in Hargeisa and is unaccompanied and eligible for very completive salary package and other benefits as per our Human Resource policy. The group Team members represent the Dahabshiil Group both during and outside of work hours when deployed in a field posting or on a visit to a field posting.
