ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Somali-Sudanese Specialized Hospital is a General Hospital, funded by Somali businessmen to meet the needs of Somali people in health care services. It has been providing health care services in Somalia since 2014. Headquartered in Hodan district, the hospital runs four branches in the other districts in Mogadishu. The hospital bridges a huge gap in the health care sector in Somalia. The hospital absorbs and employs both qualified Somalis and expats from different nationalities.

 Job Description – Chief Operating officer

Industry :   Hospital & Healthcare

Qualification :  MBBS., MHA / MBA

Experience  :  Minimum 5 Years in relevant industry & similar role

Additional Requirements  : Excellent communication skills in English & Somali

Reporting to  :  Chief Executive Officer

Job Responsibilities:

  • To ensure smooth functioning of outpatient department
  • To ensure availability, accuracy and timely delivery of lab and radiology reports
  • To ensure availability and proper dispensing of medicines in pharmacy
  • To ensure proper counseling is given to all patients needing IP admission, Surgery, and any other additional treatment and / or follow-up
  • To ensure the patients get the appropriate treatment at the right time
  • To ensure there is service quality excellence in clinical areas
  • To create a good work relation with all employees to percolate organizational mission
  • To ensure all staffs in OT are trained and equipped to carry out all surgical procedures
  • To ensure HIS is implemented and adhered thoroughly, end to end.
  • To ensure financial viability of all clinical programs run in the hospital.
  • To meet all HODs and stay updated with all hospital activities.
  • To meet all consultants and fulfill their needs and update them about their performance.
  • To create standardized protocols, prioritize accountability and manage performance.
  • To set the right financial parameters to maximize budget resources.
  • To expand and develop medical programs.
  • To controlling costs and improving the quality of services provided to patients.

Skill & Attitude:

  • Demonstrate positive attitude in all difficult circumstances and follow strict hierarchy
  • Possess and demonstrate a good team building skill
  • Communicate flawlessly and seamlessly with all stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of numbers and ability to generate reports from data dumps and IT systems
  • Ability to create and present reports to Sr. Management & BOD.
