SOS Children’s Villages Somalia has officially been working in Somalia since 1985. SOS is currently working in 135 countries worldwide. We also run education and health facilities. With the SOS Children’s Village concept, the organization pioneered a family approach to the long-term care of orphaned and abandoned children. Job Title: ICT Intern (1 Position)

Location: Mogadishu

Job Summary:

The ICT Intern supports Mogadishu National office and Satellite offices, supporting users with Microsoft cloud services, Network and connectivity support and related ICT administrative works in Mogadishu office. In cooperation with the National ICT Coordinator, the ICT Intern is mainly required to provide support services in the smooth running of cloud-based SOS business apps ensuring users get maximum benefits from them

Report to: ICT Coordinator

Key Area of responsibility:

Assist in Managing and Troubleshooting ICT Infrastructure

Provide Tier 1 level support, immediate diagnosis and workarounds for reported incidents.

Assist in determining root course and resolution for problems raised by reported incidents.

Escalate to tier 2 and 3 supervisor and according to identified priorities levels when necessary .

Install and configure computer hardware operating systems and applications

Support and implement planned technology upgrades. Provide end-user training both as a technical support person in general and as a trainer for appropriate business process courses when necessary.

Monitor and maintain Network systems and End User Devices

Engage with staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over virtual platform, to support, set up systems or resolve issues

Assist in troubleshooting systems and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults

Ensures that service disruptions are properly identified, reported, prioritized, escalated and resolved efficiently

Assist in monitoring and controlling service levels of service providers and suppliers; Interacts with relevant vendors

Assist in troubleshooting various Office 365 issues including connectivity and mobility

Assist and Support in the roll-out of cloud-based applications and services

Maintain and update ICT inventory.

Support Co-workers

New user setup and orientation including installing and configuring workstations, software, telephone services, network printing, etc.

Providing end-user support for all workstations, laptop/desktop-based hardware, applications and services

Qualification & Experience

Diploma or BSc degree in Computer Sciences or related field

Certified in networking and Security (CCNA) will be an advantage Relevant one year in ICT experience

Certified in Microsoft (MCSE/MCSA or equivalent) will be an advantage

Competencies – knowledge, skills, abilities

Knowledge in Microsoft windows server and client operating systems

Basic knowledge in software defined (SD) networking such as Cisco Meraki preferred

Hands on experience on Microsoft Office 365 services preferred

Hands on Experience on Microsoft Azure Cloud infrastructure preferred

Hands on Experience on Microsoft Intune and Enterprise Mobility Suit preferred

Assist in Annual ICT plan and monitoring of ICT budget expenditures

Experience in ICT hardware and software acquisition and management
