INVITATION TO BID FOR CONSULTANCY
Save the Children International (SCI) Somalia program hereby invites interested consultants to bid for the consultancy assignment detailed below

|5||Responsibility for Logistics arrangements and Costs||Save the children will provide logistic support for the consulatant, this will cover Ticket, accommodation, security, VISA and other local movement costs. The consultant should provide his/her daily rate fee in the cover letter.|
|6||Taxation Provisions||Consultant shall be responsible for all Taxes arising from the consultancy in line with the local Tax regulations applicable at the SCI contracting office named above|
|7||Travel requirements||The consultant is required to travel to all Somalia operational field offices during the consultancy activities.|
|8||Security requirements||Consultant will comply with standard Save the Children Security procedures, including the completion of SCI online security training prior to travel to Somalia|
|9||Qualification and Experience||Education and Expierence:

The applications should be submitted in PDF format as one document comprising Technical and Financial sections as detailed below.
A) Technical proposal – including but not limited to :
– Consultants understanding of the assignment and context

B) Financial proposal – providing a breakdown of all charges related to the assignment.
Applicants should also indicate the date they are available to start working on the consultancy

ANNEX 1 : Consultancy Terms of Reference
Save the Children has been working in Somalia for more than 60 years. The Country Office has seen massive growth in 2017 as a result of the drought response and now has over 543 staff across 14 field offices (Boroma, Burao and Hargeisa in Somaliland; Bossaso, Garowe, Galkayo and Gardo in Puntland; Beletweyne, Adaado, Abudwak, Baidoa, Kismayo, Dhobley and Mogadishu in Central South Somalia).
|Save the Children staff works in harsh zones and travel to a difficult remote areas to reach the most depreived children in Somalia to ensure programme deliverables are done in line with the humanitarian principles which sometimes lead to traumatic situations. In order to design fit-for-purpose solution, the organization launched employee engagement survey. The result of the survey indicated that one area the organization needs to put further emphasis is the wellbeing of the employees. The results of the survey indicated that the physical wellbeing of the emaployees is up to the required international standard. However, the mental wellbeing seem to be overlooked. Thus, the organization wants to hire a skilled professional consultant who provides support on the phycosocial matters to improve staff wellbbeing, alleviating distress & enhancing coping skills in Somalia Country office.
SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
The main objective of the Psychosocial Support program is to mitigate the impact of chronic stress on staff, raise awareness about trauma, develop stress control mechanism, facilitate the provision of assistance to staff experiencing trauma or have work related and/or personal problems, facilitate the provision of immediate support following a traumatic incident, promote social support and other strategies aimed at improving the overall well-being of Save the Children Somalia staff.
Hence; under the guidance and direct supervision of the Human Resource Director, the Psychosocial Support Consultant is expected to work on a daily basis in assisting Save the children Somalia Country Office in developing key Psychosocial approaches, consultations that the Organization can adopt to address Staff & Operational psychosocial aspects. He/ She provide training to raise awareness around mental health issues and the importance of self-care and stress management. The consultant will work with the HR Director to help managers and staff who have immediate need for mental health treatment because of traumatic event in conflict-affected areas. He/ She will help staff to cultivate skills and coping mechanisms necessary in overcoming their challenges. As mental health counsellor, he/she is expected to provide the report related to counselling sessions to HR Director with key findings, results and recommendations.

The Consultant will be assessed based on his/her relevant qualifications and experience, have done similar assignments, provide prove of previous work done on Pyscosocial Support, availability / flexibility and daily rate fee provided.
