Job Function
 

Position Purpose

Responsible for refining and analyzing customer and market data. Develop internal and external reporting systems and processes. Responsible for overall financial performance reports. Support the Financial Control & Reporting Director on function related activities and decisions collaborating across organizational units. Responsible for supporting sales performance audit and quality assurance for Somtel’s direct sales channels.
Main Duties and Responsibilities Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 

1.     Maintain a shared customer database and customer analytics capability (and coordinate with Product & Services);

2.     Define and drive process to feed data into the database and keep it up to date; liaising with Internal Communications and Data warehouse teams;

3.     Refine and analyze customer data, history and demographics;

4.     Work with marketing and products & services management teams to create mobile marketing campaigns;

5.     Recommend improvement areas in customer data collection methods and usage for mobile marketing campaigns;

6.     Assist marketing and products & services management teams in collection of relevant customer reporting and analysis

7.     Compile retail outlet stores performance and compliance reports;

8.     Apply audit reporting mechanisms and ensure their adoption;

9.     Collect and consolidate auditors’ reports and perform analysis to identify quality and performance issues;

10.  Liaise with sales performance and provide input;

11.  Execute audit and quality assurance operations within the direct channels, by managing audit inspections and quality assurance operations;

12.  Manage reports and analysis on mystery shopping activities within retail stores and report results to Sales Performance.

13.  Manage the employees within the Financial Analysis & Reporting unit, coordinate their tasks and continuously evaluate their performance and follow up on mismatches;

14.  Consolidate Somtel’s financial reports by developing internal reporting system and carrying out periodic reporting process;

15.  Coordinate the collection, analysis and interpretation of financial information for management information;

16.  Continuously evaluate the systems for reporting, planning and analysis in place; provide recommendations on improvements;

17.  Liaise with Somtel’s other units in order to ensure that they provide required timely and comprehensive information;

18.  Indentify and recommend measures to solve all reserves that are brought by external auditors in order to ensure no reserves exist in the final report;

19.  Contribute to the development of an effective and efficient Finance function at Somtel, by managing financial performance and adhering to international standards, documented policies, processes and procedures and aiming at meeting the KPI targets.

Minimum Requirements
Education: ·           Masters Degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration related field required.
Work experience: ·           5+ years of work experience required in a finance role in the telecommunications industry and/or consulting firm; 

·           Experience in Somaliland and/or in the EA region preferred;

·           Exposure to international business is a plus.

Knowledge & Functional/Technical Skills: ·           Advanced analytical skills;

·           Advanced skills in financial and business analysis and financial modeling;

·           Expert knowledge of revenue assurance in the telecommunications industry, anti fraud as well as risk management

·           Expert knowledge of internal audit, risk and compliance, risk and revenue assurance tools, systems and processes in the telecommunications sector

·           Advanced project management abilities to initiate and lead risk management projects across the whole company;

·           Intermediate knowledge of telecommunication’s technology, products and services

·           Advanced managerial skills to lead and develop the team;

·           Advanced skills with MsOffice Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint);

·           Intermediate skills with ERP application suites (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

·           English fluency preferred.
